Mens Diamond Wedding Bands

Questions to Ask When Purchasing Mens Diamond Wedding Bands

A wedding band is such a special, significant piece of jewelry, that it cannot be skimmed over in the wedding planning process. It is unfortunate that this is exactly what happens many times to mens wedding bands. There are tons of different styles of mens wedding bands out there, but I most prefer mens diamond wedding bands. These are sleek and elegant and can be made in so many different styles. But why have a piece of jewelry, which signifies the most important day of your life, and not have diamonds in it!?

It can be very difficult to choose the style of your mens diamond wedding band. This is because it is something which you will wear for the rest of your married life. As you have already figured out, it can be hard to commit to something for that long!

Think about the value of your ring. How important to you are certain elements? for example, many rings have the diamonds inset by machine. Is this ok with you? Or would you rather shop around for a place which will handset your diamonds?

Do you want to purchase the ring as a whole (setting and diamond together)? Or do you want to be able to pick out your diamond from one source and the setting form another? Keep in mind while doing this that you have to make sure that the place where you get your setting from is willing to set a diamond from a different supplier. Or you need to be willing to pay extra to have this done.

Check the cut, color and clarity of the diamonds which you are purchasing. To save money, think about which of these you may be willing to sacrifice on.

What kind of setting do you want the diamonds to be in? Gold comes in various colors including white, yellow or rose, and is usually available in 14K or 18 K. Platinum and sterling silver are two more options. These all make wonderful wedding bands, but take several things into considerations- one is your skin color. Although rose gold may look lovely on one person, it may look hideous on the next, same with yellow gold. The next thing to take into consideration is the gender of the person getting the ring, we are currently talking abut mens diamond wedding bands, so I will assume it is for a man. A rose gold ring may look too pink and feminine for some men and in this case a platinum, yellow or white gold ring would be a better match.

Are you going to want to get your diamond certified? This ensures to you that your diamond is worth what you paid for it. That it is actually something of value. If you do want it certified, see if the supplier you purchased the diamond from will do it for you, if not ask the jeweler who is setting the ring. Your diamond may have to be sent away to a GIA laboratory in order to have this done, so be prepared to be without it for several days.
