Danzan- ryu was developed as a jujitsu style by Henry S. Okazaki in the mid 1930's. The phrase Danzan-ryu actually translates to Cedar Mountain School or Sandalwood Mountain School that is a Japanese name for Hawaii. Denver Self Defense is a school that specializes in Danzan- ryu.
